The exposed material reportedly includes detailed supplier and component lists along with drop-test photographs of the upcoming handset, according to documents and a source familiar with the matter.

The breach, which Reuters has previously linked to more than 200,000 stolen files, raises fresh concerns for Apple as it expands manufacturing in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's electronics push, with the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max expected to launch in September.

What the Leaked Files Reveal About iPhone 18 Pro Components

Newly reviewed documents show at least six files mapping numerous components of the iPhone 18 Pro models to the specific companies that manufacture them. The records cover chips placed on the device's main circuit board, along with elements tied to the battery and camera systems.

In total, the files outline hundreds of individual parts used in the unreleased iPhone 18 Pro generation, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Apple treats this kind of information as confidential and has expressed concern over its appearance on the dark web, given that it pertains to devices that have not yet been released, the source said. Apple's public supplier database does not disclose which companies provide specific parts, making the leaked mapping data particularly revealing.

The documents also show which components Apple sources from multiple suppliers and which rely on a small number of vendors, exposing both the company's negotiating leverage and potential supply chain weak points.

Drop-Test Photographs Surface From Tata Manufacturing Plant

Among the leaked materials are photographs, dated early 2026, showing iPhones undergoing drop tests at a Tata Electronics facility. The images depict a slab-shaped, grey-colored handset featuring three rear cameras and the Apple logo.

While Reuters could not independently confirm the exact model number shown in the photos, the source identified the device as an iPhone 18 Pro variant. Several of the leaked files reportedly carried Apple "confidential" watermarks and internal code names consistent with the iPhone 18 Pro generation.

Background on the World Leaks Ransomware Attack on Tata

Reuters has previously reported that the broader Tata Electronics leak, attributed to World Leaks, included more than 200,000 files. Earlier disclosures from that trove reportedly contained component design documents tied to older iPhone models as well as materials connected to Tesla, another Tata client.

The leaked cache also reportedly included documents belonging to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Qualcomm, two companies that supply chips used in iPhones. World Leaks has previously claimed responsibility for a separate breach involving Nike.

Reuters said it has not independently verified the authenticity of the leaked data and was unable to immediately reach World Leaks for comment. News outlet AppleInsider first reported last week that iPhone 18 Pro-related documents were part of the Tata leak.

How Apple and Tata Are Responding

Apple is investigating the breach and working with Tata Electronics on long-term security measures, according to earlier Reuters reporting. Tata has restricted internal access to sensitive systems while the investigation continues and has engaged a global consultant to carry out a forensic audit.
