Pakistan Textile Exports Drop 22.6 Percent In June 2026

Pakistan’s textile exports declined by 22.6 percent in June 2026, official trade figures showed, highlighting ongoing challenges in the country’s key export sector. The drop was measured year on year, indicating reduced shipment volumes and earnings compared to the same period last year.

According to the data, textile exports which include major products such as cotton yarn, fabrics, garments, and related goods recorded a sharp fall in both value and volume in the sixth month of the year. Exporters and industry stakeholders attributed the downturn to weakening global demand and competitive pressures from regional competitors.

Officials from the textile sector noted that the decline comes amid broader economic headwinds, including fluctuating currency rates and higher input costs, which have affected Pakistan’s competitiveness in international markets. The textile industry, traditionally a mainstay of the country’s foreign exchange earnings, now faces renewed pressure to revive sales and market share.

Traders and exporters also raised concerns about delayed international orders and supply chain disruptions which combined with weaker demand contributed to the overall fall recorded in June. The downturn in textile exports is likely to have implications for employment and revenue generation in cities that depend heavily on textile manufacturing.

Industry representatives have called for policy support and incentives to help stabilize the sector and boost export competitiveness. They urged government and trade bodies to explore measures that can help recapture lost markets and safeguard export volumes in the coming months.
