PM Praises FBR For Record Tax Collection

Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has lauded the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) record tax collection, saying the achievement reflects improved revenue performance and stronger tax enforcement measures. According to official figures, the FBR exceeded its monthly revenue target, marking a milestone in Pakistan’s taxation efforts this fiscal year.

In remarks made during an interaction with senior officials, the prime minister highlighted that the record haul was the result of improved compliance, better tax administration, and efforts to broaden the tax base. He said the performance shows the government’s commitment to strengthening state finances and supporting development work across the country.

Officials said the record tax collection would help the government manage its budgetary commitments more effectively and reduce the need for borrowing. The prime minister also stressed the importance of sustained efforts to ensure fairness and transparency in tax administration, adding that the government would continue to back reforms that encourage honest taxpayers and discourage avoidance.
